The calculator itself stays on your device

Every option you select in the cost calculator, unit type, tank size, install complexity, and the ZIP code you type in, is processed by your browser and never sent to our servers or stored anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone. Nothing about your specific inputs leaves your device.

What we do collect

Two other channels bring us information. If you fill out the contact form or ask to be connected with a plumber, we receive the name, email address, and message you typed so we can respond or make the connection. Separately, standard web analytics tools log technical details common to every site visit: rough location, browser and device type, and which pages you viewed. None of this requires you to do anything; it happens automatically the same way it does on nearly every website.

Cookies, ads, and the choice you get

Google and its advertising partners set cookies here to measure traffic and to decide which ads you see, drawing on your browsing history across sites, not just this one. A banner asks visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland to accept or decline non-essential cookies before any are set; everyone else can manage the same choice by clearing cookies and revisiting. Two direct opt-outs exist outside this site: Google's own ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and the industry-wide list of participating ad companies at aboutads.info.

Analytics

Google Analytics tells us, in aggregate, which pages get read and how long people stay, which is how we decide what to fix or expand next. It is not tied back to who you are individually. The Google Analytics opt-out browser extension turns it off entirely if you would rather not be counted.

Your rights over what we hold

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to see, correct, delete, or limit the personal data tied to a contact-form submission, or to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell it, but the right still applies in some states). Reach us through the contact page to exercise any of these, and we will handle it directly rather than routing you through a third party.

Who else sees this data

We share it only with the vendors that keep the site running, meaning our analytics provider, our ad network, and the service that delivers contact-form submissions, and only to the extent each one needs it to do its job. None of it is sold. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as it takes to respond and for basic recordkeeping after that.

Children

This site is built for adults making a home-repair decision and is not directed at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and if we learn that we have, we remove it.

If this policy changes

The date at the top of this page moves whenever the policy itself changes. Questions about any of this go through the contact page.
